Saved Portfolios

Saved Portfolios are named portfolio configurations. Anyone can create their own; sharing a specific one with others is controlled per-portfolio through granular roles.

What Gets Saved

SavedNot Saved (always live)
Portfolio nameJira issue data

Sharing / role assignmentsNew issues matching scope

Opening a saved portfolio always loads current Jira data within the saved scope.

Accessing Saved Portfolios

Your own portfolios, and any shared with you, appear in the Portfolios section of the left sidebar. Click any portfolio name to open it.

Managing Saved Portfolios

Rename a Portfolio

  1. Open the portfolio
  2. Click the portfolio name in the breadcrumb / header
  3. Type the new name
  4. Press Enter or click away to save

Edit Scope

  1. Open the portfolio
  2. Click the Settings gear icon
  3. Modify the filter or JQL
  4. Click Save

Delete a Portfolio

  1. Open the portfolio
  2. Click Settings → Delete Portfolio
  3. Confirm - deletion is permanent (requires Control access)

Duplicate a Portfolio

Use Copy to New from the portfolio's actions menu, or manually: open the original, note the filter/JQL settings, create a new portfolio, apply the same filter/JQL, and save with a new name.

Sharing and Collaboration

  • Creating and deleting your own portfolios requires no special role - anyone can do it
  • Sharing a specific portfolio uses four granular roles - View, Edit, Edit generators, Control - assignable to Everyone, specific Users, a Jira Group, or a Jira project role, via the portfolio's Share modal
  • The creator always holds Control; Jira admins can manage any portfolio regardless of share settings
  • Communicate with your team before making structural changes to a portfolio others can edit

Tips

  • Prefix portfolio names with a team or quarter: "Platform - Q3 2025 Roadmap"
  • Use Favorite to pin portfolios you open often, and Archive instead of deleting ones you might reference later
  • Check who holds Edit/Control on a shared portfolio before assuming you're the only editor
