The app uses a consistent layout across all modules:
| Area | Location | Purpose |

| Content Area | Main right panel | Displays the active section's content |
| Settings Link | Bottom of sidebar | Access global app configuration |
Module Navigation
Use the dropdown at the top of the sidebar to switch modules:
| Module | What It Opens |
|---|---|
| Capacity Planner & Insights | Analyze team workload, capacity, and delivery risks |
| Time Tracking | Log, review, and approve time entries; build timesheet reports |
| Portfolio Management | Cross-project timeline, Gantt, and portfolio health views |
| Backlog Prioritization | Score and rank backlog items using scoring frameworks |
Common UI Patterns
Scope / Filter Button
Most views have a Scope or Filter button in the top-right. Click it to open a modal where you select Projects and Date Ranges before loading data. Always set a scope before expecting data to load.
Save / Saved Items
Reports, plans, portfolios, and scoring views can all be saved. Look for a Save button in the top-right of any configurable view. Saved items appear in the sidebar for quick access.
Export Button
Time Tracking reports and Backlog tables have an Export button. Options: CSV (all views) and PDF (Time Tracking reports).
Log Time
Available in all Time Tracking views. Click Log Time to open a quick-log form - search for an issue, enter hours, select date, pick category.
Settings - Interface Walk-through
Settings is grouped into three sections, plus a standalone Apps tab below them:
| Group | Tabs | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Configuration | Time & units, Booking & Fields, Timezone & defaults, Time Categories, Worklog Fields, Period Configuration | Display, timezone, booking, and worklog-form preferences (Time Categories, Worklog Fields, and Period Configuration only appear inside Time Tracking) |
| Staff | Holiday Calendars, Workload Schemes, Staff Assignments, Plan Vacation, Roles, Skills | Company holidays, per-person working-hour schemes, and staffing metadata used by capacity calculations |
| Data Access | Permission Overview, Permission Roles, Audit Log | Who has which permissions, and a history of access changes - visible only to Jira admins and users with a global role |
| Apps | Microsoft Calendar | Connect your own Outlook calendar - see Microsoft Calendar Integration |
Tips for New Users
- Ask your admin what role you hold if features seem unavailable - most restrictions are permission-based, and there's no self-service "My Permissions" screen
- Always set a date range before loading capacity or time reports - the app requires scope to load data
- Refresh manually to see changes made by other users - the app does not push live updates
- Narrow your filters for large projects - loading 10,000+ issues takes time
