Getting Started
Permissions & Access
This article explains who can install, configure, and use Subtask Importer.
Roles at a Glance
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Jira site administrator | Install and uninstall the app from the Atlassian Marketplace |
| Administrator | Enable or disable the app per project and set the row limit (maximum 1,000) |
| Project users | Run imports from the Subtask Importer panel on issues in projects where the app is enabled |
Access Requirements for an Import
To import subtasks, a user needs:
- Access to the parent issue in Jira
- The app enabled for the project that holds the parent issue
- A spreadsheet within the project's row limit
If the Subtask Importer panel does not appear on an issue, ask your admin to check Per-Project Settings.
Google Sheets Access
To import from Google Sheets, the sheet must be published to the web as CSV. The app reads the published URL. Setting the sheet to "Anyone with link" is not enough. See Importing Subtasks.
App Permissions at Install
When a site administrator installs the app, Jira shows the permissions the app requests. Review them and click Accept to continue. See Installation & Setup.
