Searching with JQL Functions
GitConnect for Jira adds five custom JQL functions so you can build searches and filters that combine Jira data with GitHub and GitLab activity.
Available Functions
| Function | Argument | Description |
|---|---|---|
| hasCommitBy(author) | author (optional) | Issues with at least one linked commit, optionally by a specific author |
| hasBranch(branch) | branch (optional) | Issues with at least one linked branch, optionally matching a branch name |
| inRepository(repository) | repository (required) | Issues with activity linked to a specific repository |
| hasOpenMergeRequest(state) | state (optional) | Issues with an open pull/merge request, optionally filtered by state |
| hasFailedPipeline(status) | status (optional) | Issues with a failed CI/CD pipeline run, optionally filtered by status |
Each function supports the =, !=, in, and not in operators.
Example Queries
project = PROJ AND hasOpenMergeRequest() ORDER BY updated DESC
inRepository("my-org/my-repo") AND hasFailedPipeline()
hasCommitBy("jane.doe") AND status != Done
Note: These functions only return results for issues linked to a repository that is connected in GitConnect for Jira.
