How Admin Settings apply in the app

AreaHow settings are usedImportant detail
Custom ChartUses feature flags, source blocking, export control, and formatting defaults.Admins can influence chart setup, but not every chart-specific display option.
Issue ListUses feature flags, source blocking, export control, and formatting defaults.Admins can control broad behavior, but not every table preference.
Dynamic Filter ControllerUses feature flags and source-related controls.Formatting defaults are less relevant here than in chart and table gadgets.
TemplatesControlled mainly through the global Templates feature toggle.Admins can enable or disable template access, but cannot manage template content from Admin Settings.

Note: Admin Settings work best as a global governance layer. They are strong for basic control and consistency, but they are not a full enterprise policy console.

  • Use Customization Options to set clean default formatting before users create new gadgets.
  • Disable source types that your team should not use, especially Custom JQL if you want a simpler setup flow.
  • Use the Templates toggle if you want to allow or block quick-start preset usage across gadgets.
