Installation & Setup
Prerequisites
Before installing, confirm:
- Your instance is Jira Cloud - Pulse AI does not support Jira Server, Data Center (self-hosted), or Atlassian Government Cloud.
- You are a Jira site administrator - only site admins can install Pulse AI.
- You have access to the Atlassian Marketplace from within Jira.
For Site Admins - Installing the App
Step 1 - Find the App on the Marketplace

Step 2 - Connect to Your Site
- Select your Atlassian Cloud site when prompted
- Sign in if needed
- Choose Jira
Step 3 - Review & Confirm Permissions
- Review the permissions the app requires and click Accept
- The app installs automatically - no restart required
Step 4 - Manage the Installed App
- Go to admin.atlassian.com → Apps → Manage Apps to configure, manage the license, or uninstall
For End Users - Requesting the App
If you don't have site admin access, you can still request the app:
- Find Pulse AI for Jira on marketplace.atlassian.com
- Click Try it free to send a request to your site admin, with justification if prompted
- Your admin approves or denies the request - you're notified once it's approved
Verify Installation
After installation:
- Click Apps in the Jira top navigation bar.
- Look for Pulse AI in the dropdown menu.
- Click it to open the app - you should see the Welcome / OAuth screen on first launch.
Note: If Pulse AI does not appear under Apps within 5 minutes, refresh the page or clear your browser cache.
Permissions Requested During Install

| Read Jira configuration | Detect workflows, schemes, custom fields, and issue types |
| Read users and groups | Audit access hygiene and permission risk |
| Administer Jira (admin only) | Required to install the app |
Pricing
Pulse AI is paid via Atlassian, with a free trial available before purchase. Billing is handled through your Atlassian account settings - see the Marketplace listing for current pricing.
First Steps After Install
- Complete Connect with Atlassian (OAuth 2.0) - see First Launch & OAuth Authorization →
- Click Run Scan to run the first full sync
- Review your Pulse Score on the Dashboard - see Dashboard Overview →
- Optional: install the Project Manager Agent or Sprint & Delivery Agent to fix the findings Pulse AI flags
Uninstalling
To uninstall: Go to admin.atlassian.com → Apps → Manage Apps → click Pulse AI → Uninstall. Installed Pulse AI agents stop working until Pulse AI is reinstalled.
