Administration
Repository Administration Settings
Repository Administration is one of GitConnect for Jira's core capabilities - it gives permitted users control over which repositories are indexed, how, and visibility into what's happening.
What You Can Control
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Connected repositories | Which GitHub and GitLab repositories are indexed into Jira |
| Authentication | Whether an integration uses OAuth, a personal access token, or (GitLab) webhook-only, and when credentials are rotated |
| Indexing triggers | Webhook-based triggers that sync activity as it happens, in addition to scheduled syncs |
| Reindexing | Manually trigger a full resync of a repository's history |
| Disconnecting | Stop syncing new activity from a repository without deleting previously indexed data |
Where to Find These Settings
Repository administration settings live under Apps → GitConnect for Jira → Manage Integrations and Manage Repositories. See Managing Connected Repositories for the full walkthrough.
Usage
The Usage page in the admin console shows how many repositories and integrations are currently connected.
Audit Log
Integration and repository changes - connecting, disconnecting, updating credentials, reindexing - are recorded in an audit log, visible to users with the Manage Integrations permission.
Best Practices
- Connect only the repositories your teams actively reference from Jira - fewer connected repositories means faster syncs and a cleaner Add Integration picker
- Review connected repositories periodically and disconnect any that are archived or no longer in use
- Keep personal access tokens scoped to read-only unless developers need to create branches or pull/merge requests from Jira
